Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — SGA is quietly becoming one of the best two-way guards in the league. He’s putting up a 23-7-5 stat line in his third season and is pretty clearly the best player on an Oklahoma City Thunder squad that’s somehow 12-19 despite everyone expecting them to be pushovers. Unfortunately, his team record and slightly lesser numbers than the guys ahead of Gilgeous-Alexander conspire against him. He should be in the hunt again next year though.

"All you have to do is look at his track record," Kerr said. "He was a winner in high school, a winner at Michigan State and a winner in the NBA. So it's just who he is. He's a champion, and he's a competitor and he's a great basketball player -- and sometimes he snaps. That's just the way it is, and we're very happy to have him. We're always going to deal with his outbursts, because at his core, he loves his teammates, he loves the team. He's got a great heart, and he's always going to fight."

"He's been in this league long enough," Warriors guard Damion Lee said. "He knows what's right and what's wrong. And it doesn't matter; day in, day out, I'm always going to ride with Day Day. Throughout the good, throughout the bad, I'm always going to ride with Draymond. ... It doesn't matter if I'm a Warrior or not a Warrior. That's my guy. That's one of my vets. And I'm always going to ride with Day Day."
It ultimately comes down to this: Because the Lakers are hard-capped this season, they essentially get one move to upgrade the team at the deadline (unless they trade Kyle Kuzma), one buyout signing. One shot. Do the Lakers spend that shot on Cousins?
